Each task was evaluated by the teacher both in progress and completion.
As a summary evaluation of the WebQuest, students were asked to write an essay
of about 250 words in which they would do the following:
Compare the experiences of the early nineteen hundreds to the "new immigrant" entering
our shores today.
To assist the students in writing the essay they were instructed to refer to
their folder of notes, journal entries, task assignments, and information from the
WebQuest. From these essays the teacher will be able to determine if the students
are aware of the similarities between immigrants of the past and the present. The
students' writing should reflect their role in preventing history from being repeated.
The evaluation tool that the teacher used is based on a rubric system of 1-4 (4
being the highest).
